Is There a New Iranian Revolution Due?

The New York Times is reporting that the post-election violence is abating in Iran, following several days of protests that the government has cracked down on rather forcefully.

It sounds like Iran is ripe for a new revolution. The question is when does it come, what form does it take? I wonder if the impending trials of the protesters will lead to armed revolution. Given the shows of force lately, that would be surprising, but not unimaginable.

Iran is caught in the throws of revolution; though it comes quietly, even silently, over time, it is coming.
