Go Sarah, GO!

A story or two have cropped up recently which seem to imply an enormous depth to the naivete of Sarah Palin on the subject of national politics.

She "blames her handlers for a botched roll out and a tarnished public image" rather than, apparently, her own complete lack of relevant knowledge or preparation specific to the job. Let's remember, it was only this last week that she responded to a 3rd grader's question with wrong information about what the VP does. Those third graders and their cutthroat gotcha journalism!

This self deception is alarming enough, but these stories are also reporting the belief in some quarters that the GOP VP candidate is setting her sights on 2012 and the top of the ticket. If it's true that she hunts wolves from a helicopter, then I believe she has what it takes to do whatever is needed to get that call. The Republican Party has already shown us, on a few occasions, that they are way more concerned with winning elections than in safeguarding the nation or the presidency. Think Dan Quayle, or 4 years and 8 years ago, for that matter.

Fortunately, we still live in a relatively free nation, and even the far right lunatics with some of the "news" outlets are starting to report the party line with raised eyebrows and a bit of a smirk. Even if you haven't seen polls like these that show an upcoming GOP thumping, chances are you can see that the writing is on the wall. Part of the fuel propelling this juggernaut right off the edge of the cliff is Sarah Palin's caustic output, and all I can say about that is this:
