Too Little, Too Late on Bush Sleight of Hand in State of the Union etc.

The Senate report released Thursday after being held back by Republican loyalists delivers confirmation of what most of us have known for years - Cheney and Bush overstated the case for going to war in Iraq.

Big whoop.

This kind of reminds me of Scott McClellan's recent tome, wherein the shocking news of the White House Press Office's complicity in advancing the White House agenda was revealed.

Shockabocka!

4,000 + American soldiers are dead for reasons that are still not clearly defined. Nobody knows exactly how many Iraqis have died for this policy misstep. It is a large number, many of whom, probably most, were wholly innocent of any wrongdoing related to the bogus reasons presented by Cheney and Bush to get us there.

Former Governor Christopher "Kit" Bond, the Senator from Missouri, called the report a “waste of committee time and resources.” Boy am I glad I don't live in that moron's district any more. No offense to my former neighbor's, friends and remaining family, but if that is the best you can do for a Senator, it may be time to go back and try again. The day getting at the truth of what led us to a disastrously destructive war is a waste of time is the day this isn't America any more. Sounds like the Senator not only is doomed to repeat the mistakes of his past, but is enthusiastically rushing to do just that.

I wonder, do you suppose he is hoping for another war front in Iran?
