Give Gonzo A Break!

US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has been spending an awful lot of time testifying in front of Congress lately. It's time to give him a break.

Poor bastard keeps sounding like he is lying, and as a result, emminently impeachable. Fortunately for him, the President has his back. Gonzo is a loyal Bushie, happy to go before Congress and sing the same song, over and over, until whatever comes next, does. It can't be much fun, and I think it is time to give him a break. Really.

He should just make a short speech about spending more time with his family, and go away. I don't care any more, if he is lying or just too plain stupid to remember anything, be it about what he and Andy Card were pressuring Ashcroft about in his hospital bed, or who actually made the call to fire US Attorneys for not being politically pliant enough to prostitute themselves for the good of the Republican Party, or any of the rest of it. On second thought, I do care about these things, and all the rest of it, too, but enough is enough.

Fire your bitch Alberto, Mr. Bush. The nation's head lawyer ought to have a backbone and a love of the law that this weasel of yours lacks. In the end, it will go much easier on you if you just start acting like you care about the constitution, as written. It's fine that it is an act, and only an act, but make it a good one and you may catch a break yourself.

Meanwhile, give Gonzo a break. He needs it. Later we may want to send him to prison for what he's done.
